Is there a print log of all items that are printed? I am trying to find the file name of a object that is being printed out of an application. Where would you find this information?

The best AIX seems to offer is the ability to log accounting details of the print jobs to a file, this is turned off by default. Not sure if this will offer what you require.

> # smit printer
> Change / Show Print Queue Characteristics
> Choose you print Q (F4 to list)
> select "3 Accounting File"

See "ACCOUNTING FILE name" entry here. Press F1 for further info. IBM Certified Confused - MQSeries

Accounting only works for ASCII text files as far as a count of pages.

It's fairly easy to create custom backends to do the logging, especially if you are using jetdiret or remote printing with local formatting.
