I just installed InDesign CS2 and am looking for a way to convert my Quark 6.0 files to InDesign. At an Adobe seminar, the speaker told me that there is a plug-in or extension that can be loaded into Quark that will convert a document back to 4.1, so that it can be imported into ID CS2. Anyone know where I can get this Quark extension?

Thanks!
Jeff

jeffkauz,

only one solution:
save from Quark 6 to 5
from 5 to 4.x and then import to indesign
offcourse - as "single-language" ;)

The problem of converting legacy QuarkXPress documents to Adobe InDesign has come up many times; particularly as it concerns versions newer than 4.1.

Markzware has released Q2ID (QuarkXPress to InDesign). This is an InDesign Plug-in which automatically converts QuarkXPress documents into new InDesign V3 (CS) or V4 (CS2) compositions.

Q2ID is a conversion tool that enables Adobe InDesign users to painlessly convert QuarkXPress 3.3, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x documents into the native InDesign document format. Q2ID converts QuarkXPress layout elements including, but not limited to: page size, style sheets, fonts, text, images, layers, lines, tables, etc.; provided that InDesign supports the layout item.

This release if for OSX users with Windows soon to follow. You can get full details at
