Hello all,

I wonder if any of you know of a way to enable the USB ports in NT4 Workstation.

I know the official line from MS is that they are not supported but would not be surprised if there was a 3rd party patch to fix this.

Hope to hear of a solution :)

There ARE adaptors... a few people are here use them.

Where might one find an adaptor to the the USB ports on an NT 4 workstation?

I would also be interested to know if there is a software patch to be able to use the USB port.

p.s. What kind of adapter...? Like a USB-to-ParallelPort adapter?

NT 4.0 does not support USB, having used a couple of patches in an attempt to force it to do so only resulted in problems with DMA and other port assignments. Do yourself a favor find an alternative or upgrade the unit to Win2k which does support it.

If an Iomega Zip drive is your goal then yes to the USB ports. Iomega has a driver at there site that can be downloaded and installed for USB support BUT if you do this no other USB device can be used with the above driver. I was hoping Palm would have a driver for NT 4.0 but they don't at this time. Hope this helps.
