I am working on an annual report (lots of photos) . Last night I closed it, today it will not open: "Publisher cannot open the file".
Does anybody know if there is a maximum file size that Publisher can handle? My file size is 27 MB.
I know it is a bit far-fetched but if this is the case, is there any other way to open or split this file?
thanks

It could be that or it could be something else. Which version of Publisher are you using?

Thanks for the response JPaules.
I'm using Office 2007.
In the meantime our IT managed to resurrect an earlier version of the file. The difference between the two versions appears to be a couple of budget spreadsheets I imported from Exel.
Perhaps there was an issue in the way in which I Cut and Pasted them into the Publisher file? Maybe that's what I need to find out.

Wrap-up:The issue has been solved. The problem was that the Excel spreadsheet, when imported into a 'text box' corrupted the file... Lesson learned...

How did you get the Excel info into Publisher? My suggestion would have been to print from Excel to a PDF file, then from the PDF save as a TIF or JPEG, and then import that image into Publisher.
You'll also find that once the Publisher document is complete, if it has a lot of photos in it, printing it to a PDF will reduce the file size considerably, and make it easier to circulate.

You might try clipboarding the Excel information, and using the Paste Special feature - it's not in the right-click menu, but it is available in the Edit menu. One of the other forum members pointed it out to me a while back, and has saved me much frustration pasting into Publisher 2007 from Hotmail messages. It might also work with Excel.
