Is there a Crystal Reports 10 Viewer free download out there
must be able to save database and password settings. Few years back used a Delphi VCL to create a viewer for Crystal Reports 8.5. Just want users to be able to run Crystal Reports 10 reports and just enter parameters and not have to install 10 on the computers and also not have users enter the database password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

David

you seem to be asking 2 different things.. Crystal makes a viewer that is free,, but it is for reports that have already been generated,, just need to be viewed. You seem to be asking how to deliver reports that require responses, to be generated,, like a date parameter. I use XI,, and deliver reports via a web portal, not sure if that is available in 10.

Hi David,

There are a couple of free viewers that I'm aware of, Logicity and Crystal Corral. You could try those out.

Ken Hamady has documented several third party tools here:

These viewers allow refresh and parameter prompting. If you google Crystal Reports Viewer you will come up with the Business Objects CR Viewer which is also free but does not allow refresh so wouldn't be any good in your parameter reports.

I'm not sure if there are any that don't provide any security prompting unless you use a Trusted Connection.

You could make the output viewable by everyone by exporting to Excel or PDF, though someone would have to run it for your users. This could be someone without any IT expertise, they just know enough to enter the parameters, export and then send to the requestor. That would mean just one extra licence.
