I'm trying to add a simple way to block a complete website by changing only a value in 1 file. The problem is that all other pages (about 50) are all done so I don't want to and include in each one. In Cold Fusion, there's the application.cfm that is run on each page load. Is there something similar in ASP?

Thanks

In asp I use a connection file (i.e. which defines the connection to the database) this is refernced in all other pages and so if I change this one file then the entire site will not work. Of course it is worth trying to give the user a sensible message.

OK, but what if I haven't use this method? I know about the global.asa but the most frequent possible acces is at each session opening (I think). Am I right or is it accessed on each page load? And even if it's accessed on each page load, I can't use the response.write method in it.

Yes, global.asa works for every session and/or application not for every page.

Why don't you just add an include file now and for all others in the future. You can do whatever you want eaisly this way.
