Is there a easy way to clean down arcserve database?

Is there a easy way to clean down arcserve database?

I have run out f room on the the disc that the database writes to. Can i clean it down without effecting the current jobs, will this effect the arserve file structure for previous bacups if i had to restore?

You can initialise the database thru Server Admin. This will not affect any jobs in the queue. It will mean, however, that if you need to do a restore, you will have to merge in the tape details first.

Also, have a look in the Arcserve database folder. If there are a lot of .chg files, you can safely delete any that are over a few days old.

If you are running a custom or GFS rotation initialising the database WILL cause you issues.
