Hi again. I am using FreeBSD 4.2, and to make this as quick as possible, I was wondering if there is a configuration file that tells the system where the ftp root directory is. I specified a different directory during install, but the drive that it is on now is running out of space. I tried to move it to another drive by changing the mount point for the current ftp root directory to the other drive in /etc/fstab, but the system won't boot - it stops, giving a message that mounting with fstab fails. The new drive, is already being to mounted to serve another mount point, so it fails to mount the "new" ftp root location stating the device is busy.

use a sym link to link the ftp root to the new place on the tree.

this can get a little confusing later on but as a short term solution it should work.

Thanks Stan. I actually did that for the short term, but as you say it could get confusing. So I just did what I guess was inevitable, I just moved all of the old files to the new drive, and made the adjustments in fstab. I didn't want to have to do that since there were files on that drive, but until I learn more about BSD, this will have to do!
