We are on AIX and we have a ".bat" file on a production NT server which is used to load a micr font for printing paychecks. Autosys is currently used to execute this '.bat' file on the NT server then execute the check print but these are seperate steps in autosys. Optimally we want the paycheck printing program to perform a call system command which executes a unix line command. This line command would be the execution of the bat file on NT. This will enable the user to print a manual check without having to request the font to be loaded to the printer. Can this be done?

It sounds like the he font has to be reloaded for
each print job?

I am not familiar with autosys other than knowing
it is some type of batch scheduler.
I would imagine autosys supports coniditional jobs.
Meaning that it could kick off the print job after
it has has run the font load job.

Is there a way to invoke the autosys job from NT?

FREE Unix Scripts

You can run a batch job from UNIx on an NT Server.
On NT you need remote shell service installed , this is part of NT resource kit . You will then have access to remsh command. This is not for GUI only character based scripts.
