So I have a 5 button mouse and I use the run line a lot. Somehow I had one of the buttons assigned to bring up the run line.

But now I have a new PC and I forgot how to configure the mouse to RUN.

I know WIN key + R, works...but the Windows key is not accepted to include as a key combination.

I can assign a mouse button to call a program...how do I call the RUN line itself?

I can only think of one way of doing it.

Click on Start > Hold down the right mouse button over the run icon and drag it to your desktop > Release the right mouse button and select "Create Shortcut" > Right click on the shortcut and select properties > You can now assign your own key combination to launch the shortcut > Such as Ctrl + Alt + R > Now assign that Key combination to your Mouse button.

Hope it helps

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The key combination screen in MS Mouse gets confused, when I created the suggested shortcut and assigned an key combo, then while inputting it in MS Mouse, the run line comes up and the MS Mouse disapears. It has been doing that with other handy combos I wanted to assign.

Anyway, I just pointed the button to the new desktop shortcut itself and that works.

thanks again
