hai,

i have another problem like ,i have a details table in which i have a field called transaction date now i have a form based on this where i enter the datas .now if i update one record i need that transactiondate to get filled automatically with todays date.
that is to make it more understandable

on 6/11/2003
i enter some datas i enter 3 records and it should get saved in the details table along with transaction date (like 6/11/2003)
on next day i enter some datas or 5 records then it should get filled with 6/12/2003
in the table details.
then i should give a condition like if the transa ction date is like todays date then allow to edit the record is that possible.

Set the default value of the field to Date().

When a new record is created, the date field will contain the current date.
