Thank you so much for responding back. I moved into a new suite and I believe I need both. I would like to manage NEC IPK in the house I know it's beyond its shelflife, but it works fine. Can you help?
System software updates required a chip from NEC plus the update software chip. The SAT administration software required an MIF circuit card to connect to the system. On a system that old it is not worth the effort. All programming can be done through a phone. I suggest you get a manual, try
1) Yuo need Keylink to connect a PC to the VM board
2) That can be done through PT programming. It's in the manual that you can download.
The IPK, not IPK II was an absolute bear to work with. You can upgrade it to an IPK II with a CPU replacement which can easily be found. Then you can use PCPro which makes life easier. But you'll need Keylink for the VM.
1. To default a mailbox, log in to the VM from a system administrator's phone. Type in their password (if one exists), dial 0 to get to admin options. Follow prompts to reset mail box (delete passcode, delete msg's, etc.)
If you do not know which station has manager rights, try it from all of them until you find one, or try the default. The published default mail box is 632 and there is no default password. Dial the voicemail number press # to get to main greeting, dial 9632 + 0.
Cosessions is the program that we used to connect via PC, but it is not 64 bit compliant and is no longer available. You can search this forum to find a copy, but you need an older PC to load and run it. You will also need a 9 to 9 straught through cable to connect via a serial port.
If you choose to upgrade the CPU to the IPK-II, keep in mind the licensing of ports and features. Licenses are linked to the CPU, cannot be transferred and are no longer available from NEC. Be careful on the secondary market.
2. Names can be changed from a phone. Download a user guide.
You can actually run cosessions on a new PC but you have to do it in a Virtual XP machine. The hard part is installing it. I have installed it on Windows 8 and you cam find out how here.....
