Hi all,

I would like to know if I make a software using the PDAC v9.5 components will it be able to work on a machine with Pervasive SQL v8.6? Also if I use PDAC v8 would it work on a server running Pervasive SQL v9.5

Thanks
Liam

I've never even heard of PDAC, at leasy by that acronym. What is it?

hey Barry, Pervasive Direct Access Components (PDAC) is the Pervasive PSQL replacement for the Borland Database Engine (BDE) included with Delphi and C++ Builder. They are components for programming in Borland Delphi and C++ Builder

According to the PDAC 9.1 will work with PSQL V8.7 and PSQL V9.1 (it'll work with 9.5 as well). It's very possible that the PDAC 9.5 will also work with an 8.x engine but I doubt it's ever been tested.
I would suggest testing with the PDAC 9.5 against a v8 server.
That being said, v8 is unsupported by Pervasive and won't get any patches. You should upgrade those servers to V9.
