Is Outlook / Exchange really better than GW?

Hi,

I'm looking for a possibility to
1. store GW mails on harddisk,
2. in the specific maps of the projects to which the mails belong,
3. keeping the relation with the attachments and
4. if possible you must also be able to give search terms to find them again.

Now I'm trying Nexic Personal Publisher and I can do 1, 2 and 3. But once exported and deleted from GW I cannot search on for example date or sender (the possibilities one has in GW itself), for I have only a set of text files with creation date equal to date of export.

Now, some people say that Outlook can perform 1, 2 and 3 (and 4??)(without the help of an extra tool!). And also give the possibility to search the exported mails. Is Outlook really better than GW (for now I'm using vs 5.5) or am I overlooking some possiblities?

Yes Outlook can to 1,2, and 3, but I'm not so sure on 4. GroupWise's search features are far superior to Outlook's.

So is Outlook better...not by a longshot. It just has different features and this is one of them. However this is one feature that I do not want to see in GroupWise, as it opens up all sorts of security issues. GW has always been the most secure messaging infrastructure and as such, it must at times give up certain things.
