Is MySQL more stable on Linux or Windows?

I was wondering how stable is MySQL on Linux and Windows?

Also how easy it is to develop a J2EE or .NET applications around MySQL.

I could not find information on this online - most information were related to proprietary databases

To the best of my knowledge, MySQL is developed on Linux. While I have not seen any benchmarks stating so, I think you'll get your best performance on Linux.
