I installed win2k3 standard r2 sp2 evaluation.

I never activated it with MS. Before the 14 days was up, I put in a valid product key.
I then activated it.

It still says on the desktop about it being evaluation, but i think that might just be hard coded.
Do you think it is going to lock up after 180 days?

If it is legitimate, just call Microsoft to explain and let them tell you officially what to do.

I think although you have activated it, the evaluation version has 2 timers that's still running.

So it depends on which one that started. One of them makes windows restart every hour and the other doesn't let you log on.

I'm pretty sure you have to do an inplace upgrade to remove the eval restrictions.

ok, so if i put the disk in u guys think it will still know its an eval and let me do an upgrade?

Is thier a way i can check and see when that day will be that it expires?

found it:

Use Winver.exe to Determine the Expiration Date
You can run the Winver.exe command-line tool to determine the version of Windows Server 2003 that is installed on your computer and the date when your evaluation copy of Windows Server 2003 expires. To do so: 1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type winver.exe, and then press ENTER.
