I am using Datastage TX 8.0.1
windows OS
Sql Server200 database.

I am working on the migrationf project from 5.0 to the 8.0.1.
In the 5.0 MDQ file the adapter type was "MS SQL Server" but when I looked in 8.0.1 version it was changed to "MS SQL Server7" .My question is does this change any effects in the perspective of compatablity.
Does any body has this situation "MS SQL Server7" adapter in the MDQ file supports the SQLServer2000 database.

Thanks in advance all your inputs on this ...[peace]

Hi Suneeld,

In Mercator 6.7.1 there were two adapters;
one for SQL Server 6.5 and one for SQL Server 7.0 and higher.

In DSTX 8.0.1 the SQL Server 6.5 adapter has been dropped, there is only the adapter for 7.0 and higher.

SQL Server 2000 is a higher version than 7.0 so you should have no problems.

Cheers,
Olly.

Better to use the OLE adapter for more functionality and compatibility when you upgrade the DB.
