We are thinking about upgrading to Solaris 9 (from 8) and was wondering if it was really worth it. From what I have been able to pick up, basically 9 is more secure and gives you a few extras like ssh. If anyone can point me to an article or documentation describing the differences etc. I would appreciate it. I haven't been able to find any yet.

Thanks,yowza

whenever I setup a new machine I use Sol 9, I would not run an upgrade if there is no technical need...

BTW: newfs is very fast in Sol 9 now!

Defintley upgrade. We just found out that IBM is dropping support for 8 on a lot of it's new storage technologys.

But 9? I say you should be thinking about ten to be honest. They release update Beta versions for ten every month.

Dubbs.
