I have to reinstall grub on a red hat server (raid 5) but when I boot off the cd it asks me "What partition holds the root partition of your installation". The choices are md1 or sdd1. I've spent the last hour reading up on it and I'm still not sure lol. Anyone know?

Thanks

What does it say in /etc/fstab?

It's possible that both are true. If you are using md (the multiple device driver) to perform mirroring of your root disk then sdd could be one of the members of that mirror.

Also check out what the "root=" parameter says in your grub.conf.
