Is it possible to wrap text in Access 2000 as you would in Excel?

I am new to Access and am quite confused, as I have been an "Excel" user for several years. In Excel, the program allows you to wrap text in a column, but in Access, it appears that this is not an option. Any suggestions on how to get the text to fit in one field, so that: (1) you can read it while viewing and; (2) you can print a report that is not cut-off or too long to fit all fields on one page. Any advice you can offer on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think I know what you're saying, that an Access text box does not have the "wrap text" property of a Cell, to dynamically re-heighten a cell if the width is reduced, and that's correct.

To "wrap" long text in a narrower text box, you can add a Control+Enter keystroke, so

will come out looking like this:

But you have to do it by hand. Bummer, I know.

In a report you can set the can grow property to yes. This only affects the height of the control. The width is fixed at whatever you set it at.

In a form you can add a scroll bar to the text control. You can set the can grow property also but this only has an effect when you print the form.

In table/query datasheet views there's not much you can do other than stretch the column permanently. Best Regards,
Mike
