Is it possible to view windows folders in Outlook 2k3? If so how is it setup? I remember in Outlook 2k that this was possible but do not remember exactly how it was setup. I believe it was a plug-in that needed to be installed bt I may be wrong, this was a long time ago. Basically what I need to do is let the users view a folder on a server while using outlook, this way they can drag and drop the messages to the server while working in outlook. If this explanation is to vague please let me know and I will attempt to explain in greater detail. Thanks in advance for your help.

Through the Web toolbar user's can specify regular file paths to both local and network files.

First of all thank you for the reply. Unfortunately this is not what I was looking for. I thought it was possible to include a windows folder in the folder list in the left hand pane of outlook. From this the user could drag and drop a message into the folder from the user’s inbox. Now when the user views this folder it would be viewed via outlook so the from, subject, received, and flag fields are still visible. This is needed so the user can sort via different fields. If anyone has any other input I would greatly appreciate it.

Is this what you were looking for? Does this refresh your memory of how it was done in OL2K. I don't have W2K3 but you might want to try the help menu and use the keyword "network". That's how I found this.

Connect to a network drive
1. On the Outlook Bar, click Other or Other Shortcuts.
2. Click My Computer.
3. On the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive.
4. In the Drive box, click the drive letter you want to use.
5. In the Path box, enter the path of the folder you want to connect to.

Tip: To automatically connect to this network drive the next time you start Windows, select the Reconnect at logon check box.

Cheers.

Or try this:

1. Right click in any blank space on the Outlook bar.
2. Left click on "Outlook Bar shortcut..."
3. For "look in" select "file system"
4. "My computer" will now show in the "folder name" field" Expand that and you will have all your drives, directories, and files listed as you would if you were using Explorer.
5. Select the drive/folder you want to create the shortcut for and click OK.

The shortcut is now on your Outlook Bar.

Cheers.

I don't think this is possible, davem1.

Unless you do it through Sharepoint - where you can integrate file folders with public folders (havent tried it though.)
