Is it possible to use spot color in gradient fill?

Illustrator always uses CMYK or RGB as default in gradient fill. Can anyone tell me how to use spot color in gradient fill? Thanks.

Another tip with creating Spot color Gradients - - if your blending from 100% PMS to 0% PMS - -always put a 0% of the PMS and not white this may cause some problems on rips that your printer may use -- and making the gradient 4/c instead of PMS.
