Is it possible to use crystal reports to calculate complex formulas and then link those formulas back to a field in ODBC to have that field updated.

My goal is to not perform the calculations within Oracle.

Thanks.

Crystal won't pass calculations back to the database, though it will perform most calcs within the report itself

I've been using a UFL to write back to a database - easy to set up, but even easier to make a mess.
I just used VB and the data environment, passing through whatever SQL I wanted to write back.

Andrew,

Where did you get that write back UFL? Can I get a copy? Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

The UFL - I wrote it to create a table of contents. It would only need a small mod to write SQL. At the moment, it's very simple - fixed ODBC etc.
