Is it possible to set Public Folders to e-mail when they are updated?

I have a department that has logs in Public Folders that are updated frequently. They need certain people to be notified when the update happens. Is there a way to set a folder to e-mail specific individuals when changes are made to the contents?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
