I am using Oracle 7.3 and I use to backup my data everyday by using exp73. Recently My machine was affected by polyboot virus and i am lucky to retrieve my data . But only 71288 records could be imported to my database out of 121988 records . But the Dmp size shows that it holds all my data . Is there any way to retrieve my data ?

Hi

It is probably an END-OF-FILE written in the file at the giving position.

Have you made a LOG file, so you can see then import stops and the message from import?

If I am right – then you can write your one code (Visual Basic, C)– walking through the file and try to find END-OF-FILE ASC-II (27) and you must “repair” the position (or range) or use a editor and try to find it.

Maybe TYPE | CAT command can show the position.
