is it possible to rename a table in informix?

Maybe a dumb question, but didnt see it in the admin manual.
 
vpshriyan are you an IBM'er? You are (thankfully) one the most knowledgable and prolific posters in this forum and I think you have saved me so much time that I should be writing you a check!

One more thing :)- what happens to the indexes and views associated with the table? will the database take care of those?

When you rename a table, all existing indexes will be linked to the new table. If a view is based on a table that was renamed, and if the view resides in the same database as the table, the database engine updates the "sysviews" system catalog table with the new table name. Both these activities operate automatically.
