Hello ppl!

just a thought though coz i might do this in the near future, is it possible to load a jpg image (or any other image format for that matter) just like it is possible to load external flash movies into other movie?

just a thought though but still needs some answers.

thanks and Godspeed!

p.s.
how come i dont see dav's and old's post as often sa i used to anymore? i kinda miss those guys!

I started with flash 5, so I don't know if it is exactly the same in v4.

All you do is go to File/import

Then it will appear on your screen and be put into the library.

no, no i mean when it is running, you know, kinda like making a flash file the stage then just calling jpg images to be seen like for 2 seconds then another would come up?

i dont need to import it coz i dont want it to be part of the flash sile during design time, only when its running is when i want the jpg imade to be viewed with in the flash movie....

thanks

Big,
I think Dave was referring to this thread: thread250-65261
His second post actually:

I have a bunch of tiny pictures (buttons) on the left, and I want each picture to be shown enlarged in the same screen on the right when the user places the mouse over the little pictures.

What is the best way to do this? or any way to do it for that matter.

at least two possibilities here:

1>>> edit your button, in the OVER frame insert your larger image in the position you want it.

2>>> put your image in a movie-clip, on your button use 'duplicate' and 'setproprty' actions to create a duplicate of the image and enlarge it.

personally, I'd go for the first one, less hassle.

There are several ways of doing this... It just depends on what you're really looking for. Those jpgs can be on the same timeline on a specific frame called from a button... They can be in a different scene... They can be in a mc that you load only on request... Hell it can be a whole slideshow from your last vacation.

What are you aiming at? A lot of considerations here. Are you sure pictures will be viewed? Do you want them preloaded with the rest of the movie? Or just loaded upon request?

See what I'm getting at?

B-)
