Is it possible to let a .dcr file create another .dcr file?

Is it possible to let a .dcr file create another .dcr file?

I would like to make an application in director, where the user can select the images which will be in the output files( which will be .dcr and .html)

but I have no idea if this is possible, I don't recall ever seeing this..

You can generate .dir files from .dir but you cannot generate .dcr. However .dcr can be customized using getPref/setPref (and server-side app etc).
