All, Is it possible to invoke boot menu if timeout=0 in boot.ini? Thanks.

Yes, just sit there pressing the Up or down cursor keys and when the boot menu appears, you can select an option as it cancels the countdown. -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

Well, I try to hold up cursor key already when PC tries to boot from floppy first (oviously, before boot loader on C: processed), but system gets right to OS loader.

DOn't hold the cursor key down, keep pressing it repeatedly before the boot menu appears. -----------------------------------------------------

Try booting into dos mode if you can ie some computers you can push f8/f11 can't remember which one which allows you to boot into dos, otherwise use a dos boot disk if you can then edit the boot.ini file and change the timer settings, if using nt create a boot disk and copy the relevant boot files including a copy of boot.ini with correct settings..

Thanks for reply. There is no msdos on hdd, and boot.ini is on ntfs partition.

It is reachable, of course, using w2000 boot cd in recovery console mode or using "ERD Commander".

What I'm struggling for is to make impossible for user to enter /sos mode. Of course, I can remove the line from boot.ini, but this is not gracefully, I think.
