I know there are integration companies out there advertising this as a service, but has anyone out there successfully integrated Lotus Notes & Goldmine 'out of the box'?

It depends on how much integration you want to do.

We have it integrated with e-mail using the POP3 server task on the Notes server to import e-mail into GoldMine and SMTP for mail out of GoldMine. This way our people can send e-mail from GoldMine so that the e-mail record is kept with the client/contact. If a reply comes back it goes to the senders e-mail box in Notes. It can then be sucked into GoldMine using POP3.

If you want to know how to do just let me know. It's quite easy.

To ABOzIT,

Can you let me know how to setup Notes mail in GM ?

Here ya go..........

Firstly you must ask your Lotus Notes Administrator to enable the POP3 task on the Notes server. Once this is running you will need to do the following in GoldMine

Press F5 to access the email service

Expand the Online folder if it is not already expanded.

Right click on folder underneath and select Account Properties...

Ensure that your screen is filled in like the following:-

Account name: is your name (eg John Doe)

Getting Mail Section

POP3 Server: Your Notes server (eg notesserver.domain)

Username: Your Notes username

Password: This is your Lotus Notes Password

For Sending Mail

SMTP server: Your SMTP server (eg smtpserver.domain)

Your return address: This is your internet email address (from each users person document in Notes)

Click on the box labelled 'Advanced Options'

Incoming (POP3) Options

E-Mail auto-retrieved from this account belongs to user (leave field empty for current user): Enter your Lotus Notes username

POP3 server port: 110

SMTP server port: 25

Click on OK

Click on OK again

Now click on your name which has been entered under the inbox.

After a few moments you should start to see mail messages appearing in your in box.

Hope this helps
