Is it possible to insert last access date/time next to a link?

I've searched the web, but am unable to come up with an answer, so I thought I'd try here. I'm creating a simple web page with a list of offices that have connectivity to us. Each link will bring up a Word doc that any user can enter info into any time they have contact with that office. What I'd like is to have the date and/or time of last access show up next to the link. It seems like it should be an easy thing to do, but I'm not having any luck. Any ideas?

it cant be done with html
you would need to be running asp or some sort of active server pages.
