Hello,

This is a simple question, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I am currently doing SBS Backup nightly, but I'd like to add an Exchange-aware store backup to a network share using NTBackup in addition to SBS Backup. I go through the steps to manually create a new backup job (Start==>run==>NTbackup) but when I go to apply it it tells me it will be a new SBS Backup, I don't want that. Maybe I'm interpreting the dialog incorrectly, like I said I want to make sure.

I'm not using any Backup Wizard for this second job, just the NTBackup app configured manually. I did use the SBS Backup Wizard to create the current SBS Backup.

Can this second NTBackup job be done and still keep the current SBS Backup? Thanks as always.

Yes, i have an SBS server that runs a full SBS backup on MOnday and then uses NTBackup to run differentials T-F. Not the best strategy but they won't pony up for daily media.

And SBS Backup is Exchange Aware.

Well alrighty then, thanks to both of you. So, when time comes to apply it, I just change the target and re-name it to something other than SBS Backup, correct?

OK guys, all done. I appreciate your guidance, we'll see how she runs tonight!

Just an update, NTBackup ran perfectly in both instances. It's nice to have a guiding hand when you're just not sure. Thanks again gav99 & mofusjtf.
