Ok here is the full question
Is it possible to have more then one personal server accessed through the linksys befsx41 cable/dsl firewall router, using a dynamic ip address?
These are the steps ive actually tried along with some variations of said actions.
Fist let me say i can access one server with no problems as long as i use a dynmamic client to actually do the ip update to dyndns.org.
I can acess both servers i am trying to get to through the router. But only if i make the settings for one machine not both.i can access both through a hub at the same time. If i use the router (as i have both options the hub and the router) all i can do is access one at a time if i change the settings in the forwarding admin page settings for the router.
If i configure the httpd config files to listen on different ports it seems to have no affect what so ever regardless what they are. If i configure the router forwarding page to use HTTP with different ports in the area for personal application setup, along with the proper ip designation (192.168.1.what ever) for the machine im trying to now activate. The default HTTP still remains in effect. Disrgarding any personal application designation settings.
Thus still only alowing me to access only one not both the servers.
So after spending several days trying to use linksys website to find answers. With no positiver results on this issue, and spending near 20 total hours messing around with this. I have begun the search for answers.
Can anyone shed light on this subject with details.
Pleas provide details for this issue not links to info. As i am not a true techniction just a home user.

It is a unfortunate thing that as a consumer you are treated as well lets be polite cattle. Companies need to change there attitudes on how they deal with there clients more honesty and transparency from there tech departments to there executives

You'll only be able to forward traffic on a specific port to a single internal address. Such as port-80 traffic can only be forwarded to a single machine internally.

You can, however, have more than one domain on a single server with a single IP address. If you want to do that, then you'll need to configure virtual hosts on the server. That's a whole different topic though.

To access two physically separate web servers from the outside, you will need to have one run on a different port such as 8080. Then in the Linksys, forward port-80 to one machine and port-8080 to the other. The bad part is that the 8080 will have to be in the url such as
I hope that made sense. Good luck.

Thx
I kind of figured that they had to be set up so that they would use a different port. Wich in my long first post i was probably not saying that exactly. I have how ever tried to set this up on a different port.
Ok so if i get you correct then what needs to be done who ever is trying to access the other servers all they need to do is add the port number in the url search.
Or is it that you are saying that the name actually has to be in the domain name it self.
If that is not clear enough as i read it again it may not be
I have a dyndns account with a web address for the named server
are you saying that the name of the server actually has to have the port redirected by the dns service or are you saying that anyone can just add the port to it
or are you saying that the named server at dyndns actually has to be a registerd site like this
my account at dyndns
my hosts at dyndns
mysite.com (this is the site as is now)
mysite:8080.com (the site with the port redirector added)
