I want to keep an external record of Symposium Variables. Whilst I know I can print some information, Name; Scope; Type; Modified by and Last Modified, the most useful information is not printed. That being the value(s). I would like to export all of the above into an excel spreadsheet so that I can document changes and print it out in the correct order to update the system.

Any ideas?

I cannot connect to Symposium using ODBC as this is not available to me and I am not permitted to install the drivers on our network PCs. B-(

The Config - Script Variable Properties will give you the info you're looking for...however you must put the value in the comment section first. Once that is done and saved, you can run the report and see the values of the varibles

Yyrkroon,

Thanks for your suggestion. It'll be a chore initially copying the values across, but should be easier when updating variables in the future. At least this way I can export the values. You would have thought Nortel would have been able to incorporate the variable values in the config report wouldn't you [ponder] perhaps not [sad]

It would be a lot easier if Nortel had actually documented this like you mentioned. I stumbled upon this by accident a few years ago trying to do the same thing you're doing now. Good luck, and yes...its very time consuming...initially.
