Is it possible to divert only external calls to voicemail

yes you will need to set the lines to be answered by voice mail under the vm programming log into the Voice mail under the Feature 983 enter your log number which is 120000 or 1020000 this is all depending on your extension number length. then press AA then press lines enter your first line number example line 1 = 001 and so on. Make sure it is set to yes or to AA this is all depending on which vm you have. then press rings and make sure the rings are set to what you want by default they are set to 0 this will be right if you want it to answer on the first ring.
