I am trying to use my Wifi connection as my internet source and then use my ethernet cord to connect my xbox to the internet. I have an HP Elitebook, when I am in WiFi and hook up the ethernet cable it "auto" disables my wifi connection.

I travel 90% of the time and like to play xbox online, but hotels internet connections are less than adequate and xbox is not too hotel friendly. So I am trying to use my laptop as the router for my xbox.

Depending on the Elitebook the exact path may be slightly different but the setting is in the BIOS...
What you are looking for is the WAN\LAN switching setting
Usually under System Confiuration -> Built-in Device Options
