I am using CR 9.0 professional. I want to select some transaction records and export them to another database. As I select these records I also want to mark the records so I eliminate these records from future exports. Is there a way to update a column using Crystal Reports?

Yes, you'd do so using SQL.

The intent of the product is to provide a read only means of displaying information.

Some databases won't support a pass through which performs an update and then selects rows from the result.

Post the database being used, and the requirements with examples and someone should be able to offer a solution.

I am using CR 9.0 with a SQL database via ODBC. I want to export transactions from the DB to QuickBooks but I only want to export them one time.

So what was hoping to do was select the transaction and export it and then mark a "Export status" column with a "Y" indicating that the transaction had been exported.

Then when running the CR report again, I could select on all transactions with Export Status <> "Y".
