It is likely not possible to call a Windows executable from within a Job on the HPUNIX system, right? (If there is a way, I would love to know.)

I am assuming that I will need some third-party software installed on the UNIX box that will permit me to call an executable from within my job. Is anyone aware of such a product, or can you recommend a tried and trusted method that would permit me to execute a Windows exe from UNIX.

Thank you in advance.

You might be able to do something with a terminal emulator script (such as Powerterm). This would need to run from a windows machine initially, but could be scripted to log in to your unix box, do x y z and then based on a condition start your windows exe. Just an idea.

pete: thanks, i think i will look into powerterm as an option.

truus: the W3.org stuff seems very involved for someone not familiar with XML (me). however, it is a great starting point. thank you.

thank you, both.

remote shell

get remote shell for the pc and call it using rexec (or rcmd) from the unix box
