Is it possible to backup to a DLT attached to a different server?

In conjunction with my question about the exchange agent.

I have BackupExec 8.5 running on my backup server and the remote agent installed on my Exchange server.

I installed the whole application on my Exchange server, and locally it sees the information store just fine. The remote server (the "real" backup server) doesn't see it however. Is it possible to run BackupExec on my Exchange server and use the DLT drive on a separate backup server?
