Trying to save a few (physical) steps to my server room to add/change/remove voice mail accounts, I am trying to see if I can set up my DSA software to connect to my Intuity box. (Currently I use a data module to connect to the switch). I've tried everything I can think of, every phone number, IP, etc. So now I ask for assistance. I'm new to this forum, but what I see, I like very much! So many useful questions & answers!
Thanks!

Welcome! If you know your INADS number to your voice mail, you can dial in and admin from there. I use it all the time with DSA/ASA. You set it up using the second button from the left on the tool bar of the DSA/ASA. (add voice mail)
This is just one way I'm sure. Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

Thanks All Phoneman2

You can set it up as an voicemail system in DSA/ASA and connect through the network. Choose terminal emulation 4410, so your functionkeys will work. Fill in the IP-adres at the system properties.
I set it up a month ago at a customers site and it works great.
The only thing is that it is only accesible by the terminal emulation.

Hope this helps....

We adminster Intuity Audix using DSA through the network. DSA has a selection for Voicemail. You just need to know the ip address and port (default is port 23).

You do have some advanced features such as importing and exporting subcriber names, but not as many options as you have when administering a switch with DSA.

Thanks everyone, I'll try INADS. I tried the Network connection, however, my company uses a really weird internal private IP scheme (not 192.168.x.x), so I had a bit of trouble connecting to the Intuity, which DOES use 192.168.x.x.

OK...so I've tried INADS, and according to all the documentation from the initial install of the Intuity, the INADS number is a DID line....so technically, all I should have to dial is the extension. When I do this, I get "the number dialed is busy" error. When I dial the extension from my desk phone, I get the modem answering. I KNOW this is possible & I'm missing something. What am I missing?

The line your dialing out on with the modem is an extension to the switch? Have you dialed out on it before? Just for S&G try putting in the whole dial string. Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

Thanks All Phoneman2

Yup, I've tried the whole dial string. Still busy. I think I'll give up for now. Like I said initially...my server room is only steps away from my desk. I appreciate all the help!

Can't give up that easy Voyager9355. When you have time hook up an analog phone to the modem line and dial the voice mail system. If it works then its in your PC, if not look at the port and cor of that extension. If its in your pc look to see if any other digits are added to the dial string (like a 1). Try dialing your desk phone from the pc to test. Then call the voice mail.
Must make this work! Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

Thanks All Phoneman2

You are using an analog modem and NOT a data module to dial Audix, RIGHT? The digital data mod will not work. -CL

LOL you don't let someone just throw their hands up in the air, do you Phoneman2!!

Here's my setup: Lucent 8400B Data Module connected to PC via Serial cable. (the PC thinks Data Module is a Hayes Smartmodem 2400).

Data Module plugged into wall jack. Data Module has originating extension of 421. Definity Netcon Extension 497. (DSA dials 497 to access Definity)

I'm thinking I may need to add a Netcon extension for Intuity? (the mind is turning to mush...)

See my post a few above. A data mod will not work. You need to connect via an analog modem. -CL

OK, now I feel like a fool. lopes1211, I hadn't seen your first post before I sumitted my last one. Thanks!! Connected via analog with no problem. (imagine that.....)

Selected 4425 Emulation, but see no function keys? is that normal?

Set your term to 4410 Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

Thanks All Phoneman2

Well apparently my last post didn't post. Thanks everyone, for all of your help! You're all mahhh-velous =) Now I know where to go to get the answers that WORK!
Set term to 4410, & it's now working just fine.

(before it was almost like the emulation screen never finished "drawing" itself....the buttons would work, but had no associated text) Tried a couple more times, changed to auto-login, and now we're rolling right along!
