Hello All,

I have a remote connection via laptop+console cable and fast ethernet point to point into a Cisco 4506 switch with Supervisor V module. The supervisor is running IOS 15.0(2)SG8. The laptop is plugged into the management interface fa1 on the sup and I can tftp and ping the laptop from the management interface.

This is a freshly loaded image with not much configuration. I have enabled the web interface to hopefully administer the system with cisco networking assistant like I had done previously in the lab but in the lab I was directly connected from the laptop into gi 2/1 port.

Since it is the weekend, the client will not be available to move the patch cable into one of the main ethernet ports and I would like to do some work before Monday and verify if the http server is up and accessible.

So, my main question is, will it be possible to access the web interface (http server) from the fa1 port that it is currently connected into or is it a requirement to be connected to one of the regular switch ports to access the http/https server?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
