Is it just for me to even aim for Oracle Certification ?

Hi,

Will I be trying in vain, if I try to aim and prepare for Oracle Certification when my position is one or more of the following ?

(*) I'm unemployed or
(*) my present company and wherever I go for cosulting work doesn't use Oracle Products or
(*) I don't have Oracle RDBMS installed in my home computer
(*) And some similar situations

What's your take in this ? How'd you advice ?
