For DR planning purposes I need to know if an LPARed p570 can use an iSCSI SAN. I found that the iSCSI software initiator is now supported in AIX but cannot find any specific info if the p570 can support.

TIA

We have been using iSCSI on some of our p570 partitions for some time now. We are using it for our NetApp NAS940 storage.

I wouldn't suggest using this in production but it works ok for our test and development.

Chuck

MRN, thanks for that link. I've been looking for the HBA drivers for 5.3 for the FC6227. BIG HELP!

Seems iSCSI is a NAS solution not a SAN solution, not surprised the fibre scsi link didn't help.
NAS - Network attaches storage - operating over an IP interface, usually on an ethernet adapter.(eth / en - could be fibre or copper)
SAN - Storage Area Network - operating over a fibre or copper interface using a scsi protocol.(scsi / fcs / fscsi)
