Today we had an audit on our inventory valuation by the IRS, somehow they were ask bunch of questions related to our systems such as O/S version of software, how many users, on and on.
Are they the agency to enforce licenses and etc. ?
No, only the license owner (as in Microsoft or Symantec) is responsible for whether or not you are using a valid license for a particular product.

There also is a group called the BSA Business Software Alliance who gets backed by the federal government and gets hired by the License owner. Other then that did not think IRS was involved...

oneworld@goes.com

I would guess they're just following the rule of asking the same question at least 3 different ways to see if your answers are consistent. They want to make sure you have actually purchased the assets you claim to have and not trying to hide something on the books.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com
