When using a type manager, any font that is "activated" appears automatically in the InDesign font menu.

Is there any way to prevent an ACTIVATED font from appearing in an InDesign font list?

In other words, on the same computer, I want a particular font to appear in the font menu in Microsoft Word, but not in the InDesign font menu, and vice versa.

Instead of constantly deactivating and reactivating fonts via type manager when switching between programs, is there any way I can force InDesign not to show certain fonts even if they're activated?

If not possible in InDesign or any sort of Font manager, Can this be done programmatically through XP with coding?

Any good leads or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Fonts that you want to use exclusively by InDesign can be placed in:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\InDesign CS\Fonts

It does not go the other way around as you cannot hide system fonts (aka activated fonts) from any application.

Perhaps you may need to set up different user accounts in the operating system to accomplish a different set of fonts. It may also help to know your font manager.
