I have an Access 2007 db which has many different forms that are open simultaneously on the stations of different users. We constantly run into locked records because of it.

Is it possible to use the timer to send out a global refresh command to all forms on each user's station, say every minute? That way all records will always be current up to that moment.

I know it can be done for each form, but it would require each form to get the focus once a minute to run the refresh command, which would destroy productivity.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but what do you mean by split?

I'm guessing the answer is no.

How are ya MacroScope . . .

[blue]Lilliabeth[/blue] means split into a [blue]FrontEnd[/blue] on all user machines and [blue]BackEnd[/blue] on the server. If its not, your headed for corruption of the DB under the secnario you've described!

No, it is not split.

Is it possible to initiate a single command at each user's work station which would refresh that user's forms at regular intervals?

MacroScope . . .

Do your user each have their own independent DB or are they accessing a share?

Each is accessing a share. One db on the public drive, each user opening his own instance of Access on his station and accessing the public drive.
