OK, I ghost my hard drive often. Maybe once a month. When my system starts getting buggy, I ghost it. Is this a bad thing? I mean, it is a good and clean image, and my system seems to work great after a re-image.

Will ghosting once per month greatly reduce the life of my hardware?

Everything (it seems in life) is a tradeoff...
do ya' want it to taste great or be less filling ?
LOL
Naw, I think erring on the side of caution is good...

If it keeps you happy...wait a minute: are you like my wife? If things are going great she worries that there's nothing to worry about!

It shouldn't deminish the life of your hardware at all. I usually do a fresh install every 3 months...then again...I put my system through the gauntlet...I haven't had any hardware failures.....

Little more wear on the head pivots, more flexing on the head ribbon cable, little more erosion on the chip traces, and a little more heat. Resolves fragmentation so reduces wear later. Sounds like a good trade-off to me. Ed Fair
