Is Flash text searchable? 1

Hello,

I have been informed to my dismay that my company wants to do a "meet the staff" page. I am a privacy buff and am proud of the fact I have kept my given name OFF the Internet. I also don't see any benefit to the page other than a free Internet resume service for short-timers.

The developer works heavily (too heavily I think) in Flash, not sure which flavor.

My question: can Flash text be indexed? Or, better, is there a simple way to cloak text to avoid it from being indexed by search engines? Maybe a JPEG of a masthead with my name & picture, following article uses first name only?

I obviously am clueless as to how Flash works...I spend my time on the hardware side, but probably know more HTML than the developer LOL. If y'all need any more info on the developer's tools just let me know.

Google indexes SWFs - but not as thoroughly as HTMLs it seems.

Type in "filetype:swf tony" in Google.

Thanks. I thought so. I have now convinced the owner that 'first names only' is the best way to go. Hope to return the favor someday on the "PC Hardware" forum!
