We have 14 buildings. 2 buildings have SX2000's that have been migrated to 3300 MXe controllers and have a mix of IP and digital phones; 3 others have 3300 MXe controllers and IP phones only, and the remaining 7 are 3300 CX controllers. All are running software version 5.0. Can anyone tell me what exactly Enterprise Manager does for us? We login to it in order to access all of the controllers, but other than that, I'm foggy as to what it does, especially since Ops Man is no longer being used. We're considering virtualizing it but not sure if it is worth it?

It's still handy for centralized alarms reporting and a centralized user inventory. Your particular environment is just on the cusp of what I would consider the size threshold for it being useful.

Even though you don't use EM for MACs it can still provide value. It can be a collection point for alarms and can send an email to indicate it has recieved one. It can do inventory management, i.e have a list of all phones. It can be setup to collect voice quality logs. It can be used as a Active Directory point. In other words there is still some value to using it besides an easy place to go to access the 3300 controllers. You might want to go to Mitel on line and see if you can get a product note about EM 8 ( latest ) to see if it still has value for you.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
