My DB2 Server is version 7.2.3 and I'm trying to connect from a 8.1 Client (Control Center) and am receiving several errors in connecting and trying to display information (SQL30082N, SQL0805N, etc). I'm suspecting that the client is sending over commands the server cannot understand.

Is it possible to connect to a server that is at a different version number than the client? If not, how would I address the situation where I need to access databases located on several machines with different versions of DB2 on them?

TIA,

Dan

I think the proper term is 'downward compatible'in this case , but anyway I never got the 7.2 client to work with a 7.1 database out of the box...... If at all possible you may need to do a lot of tweaking............. T. Blom
